Digitising of school roll books

We are delighted to be working with Dr. Liam Alex Heffron of NUIG on a project to digitise our historic roll books over the coming months. For GDPR reasons, they will only be digitising roll books from 1928 and earlier. Once completed, parents - and all members of the public - will be able to view them online.

Dr. Heffron was pleased to find that we have been storing the roll books carefully for many years, and that most of them are in excellent condition. He collected them on Friday and we look forward to seeing the project come to fruition.

(These roll books are from the five schools that amalgamated in 1977 to form Holy Family National School - Newport Boys National School, Newport Convent, Derradda NS, Skirdagh NS and Knockloughra NS)
