Collecting books from school
To prepare for Remote Learning nest week, the following procedures have been put in place to allow for the safe collection of your childrens' books...
CHILDRENS' BOOKS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO COLLECT FROM THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL FROM 12 NOON TOMORROW SATURDAY 9 JAN
BOOKS SHOULD BE COLLECTED BY ONE PERSON WHO SHOULD WEAR A MASK AND SANITISE THEIR HANDS BEFORE COMING UP.
We will begin at 12 noon with Junior Infants. When that is safely done, we will move on to Senior Infants and then move through the remaining classes. Each class grouping will take approximately 15 minutes in total. Parents of pupils will be able to gauge the approximate time of book collection for their child(ren) based on this arrangement.
It is essential that anyone collecting books wear a mask and keep a social distance of 2 metres. All others should remain in their car or at a distance while waiting to be invited up to collect their books.
Teachers will be on site to assist with the book collection.
Please be mindful that with the current weather conditions, the school grounds and pathways may have some icy patches.
If it is not possible for parents to come at this time, the books, clearly labelled, will be left under the colonnade for collection later on Saturday.
For any families who may be self-isolating, teachers will make contact with you to arrange safe collection or delivery of your childrens' books.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your continued co-operation and support. We look forward to the day when we will welcome our pupils safely back to school.
Kind regards,
Bríd Chambers, on behalf of all the staff in Newport NS
