CO2 monitors
We thought you would like to know about our new CO2 monitors, which we received last week. They are installed around the school. The monitors were provided by the Department of Education so that schools could measure CO2 emissions, as they now understand just how important good ventilation is in keeping people safe indoors.
The monitors are very simple to use, and give a reading which is also colour coded with a traffic light system - from Green for good ventilation , through amber, and on to Red for poor ventilation.
We have found the monitors very helpful, as we can see that CO2 levels can sometimes increase through the day, and we can take immediate corrective action such as opening more doors or windows, or even vacating the room and bringing children for outside activities until levels stabilise (which happens quite quickly)
All part and parcel of the school's commitment to keeping our school community safe and healthy.
