Student Council

​

In 2022/23, the children in 3rd to 6th class were introduced to the idea of having a Student’s Council in Newport N.S. They learned about democracy and how important it is to have a voice and say in how decisions are made in the society that they live in.

Ms. English oversees the elections each year and meets regularly with the council to hear all the children’s ideas and wishes for the future.
 

The children have shown such enthusiasm in coming up with their manifestos and they have shown us that they have plenty of ideas in how to make our school a better place to learn and grow in.
